One of the challenges of using data to improve your marketing is that sometimes that data tells you something you don’t want to hear. That could mean having to make a big change or killing an idea that everyone really liked. As hard as that can be, however, waiting too long to act will only put you farther and farther behind.
To help yourself and your team make the right choices, try the following:
- Measure and review your activity at least monthly and track trends over time
- Be wary of explanations as for why the data is unclear or not accurate (especially if those same arguments aren’t applied to when the data is positive)
- Use an objective third party strategist to help you overcome bias
