Marketing Monday: Goal-Tracking

Goal tracking is a classic Google Analytics feature where you can tell Google Analytics to specifically track when users complete a goal on your website, such as landing on a “thank you for purchasing” page. With that tracking in place, you can learn more about how your marketing is working.

If you are not using it, you should. If you are using goal tracking, you might be able to get more out of it.

Consider:

  • Use Google events to track other key user actions on your site, such as clicking a phone number.
  • Look at how you can improve your data tracking off your website, such as in your company app or in your store.
  • Use UTM codes to provide even clearer campaign-specific attribution to go with your goal tracking.
